Make money using your house as a film location
It all depends upon the quality of your home, of course, as to whether
or not you could rent out your house as a film location, but you might
have a home that would be just what a film company or TV crew requires
for their next production.
If you were lucky enough to own a stately mansion (and lets face it you
would be extremely unlikely to even be reading this if you were!) it
would very much easier to expect that some film or TV show would want
to use it in their production.
But its not just these big fancy homes that get used is such
productions. Don’t ignore the many smaller homes and other locations
used in all manner of TV shows and low budget films.
Just how many times was that disused power station used to film
episodes’ of "Red Dwarf"? I seem to recall seeing it in quite a few!
I’m also sure I saw it in TV shows like Gamesmaster and probably a load
of others.
Okay fine, so you don’t own a power station you’re not currently using
for anything. But it doesn’t have to be something so huge. You can make
money from your home regardless of its size.
Do you have an allotment? TV shows like Eastenders are forever filming
in places like that - Arthur Fowler died in one, I recall! Perhaps the
BBC would be prepared to pay you to film in yours.
There are literally all sorts of different locations that are required
for TV shows and films these days. You are bound to have a home or own
another location that you would be allowed to make money allowing a
film crew to use.
The fees they pay you can be lucrative, and any damage they do whilst
there would be paid for by them.
Do not forget that locations used in films can become tourist
attractions in themselves, and so you could end up becoming famous for
owning it - and it’s not beyond imagination to expect to be able to
command fees for guided tours of such locations if the film that your
location is used in becomes famous enough!

Make money writing books
Another job for those stuck at home that don’t mind working away during
unsociable hours.
Do you have young children? Have you ever made up stories for them at
bedtime? If so then you might have the right mind to create wonderful
children’s stories that publishers might be interested in!
You can make a lot of money writing books, not just children’s books of
course, but children’s books in particular is one hot area.
Just look how much money has been created by J.K. Rowling all from the
writing of a children’s story about a boy wizard. Now before we go down
the "drunken Del boy" route of rewriting someone else’s work, its worth
mentioning that you can’t just go for something that’s already out
there and "change things a bit"
Your work will have to be original and in your own unique style to
attract a publisher’s attention, but it is certainly possible to make
money writing books.
I remember watching an episode of "Roseanne" years ago (long before
J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter) in which she decided to write down her
stories for "D.J" and get them published, and you can do exactly the
same thing!
Other areas to consider include "how to guides" and any other subjects
areas that you might have expertise in. Check out your own local
bookstore for more ideas so that you can make money writing.
We haven’t yet even touched on the whole area of online article writing
resources at your disposal. Mostly people write for sites like this,
but do not actually get paid per article accepted; it’s more that they
will be promoting other areas that make them money. It is possible to
write content for publication online of course.

Make money writing restaurant reviews
Although it might sound like a Homer Simpson dream come true, you could
actually make money eating at restaurants! You could do this by writing
restaurant reviews for local publishers - and eventually beyond your
local area.
Firstly you should contact your local newspapers’ and offer them free
reviews of the restaurants you plan to eat at.
If there is brand new restaurants’ opening up in your area then they
will be all the happier to have someone to write a restaurant review of
them.
Then you should contact the restaurants you plan to eat at and inform
them that you are the restaurant reviewer of whichever paper it is that
has said yes to you. At this stage it would be useful to have some
official letter from the paper stating that you are a reviewer for them
as this would greatly increase your chances of success!
The newspaper should pay you for your review, although at first until
your name gets known, you should not expect a huge amount for this.
You may even find that the restaurant itself is prepared to offer you
something (beside the free meal) for a rather more positive review of
their service, although this of course might lead you open to
accusations of bribery!
Simply write up your experiences of the meal and service when you get
home, and remember all the things you liked and did not like about the
atmosphere of the place in order to create your review - if in doubt
read reviews in other magazines at your newsagent to see how they are
done.
Finally you could create a blog where you make posts about your
restaurant reviews, and this blog could become money making over time,
if it became popular enough, as you would likely have adverts on it for
all sorts of things related to food, kitchenware and restaurants etc.
Plus it would further help you to get known for writing restaurant
reviews.
